Echoes of her voice: Songs in Eight Tongues

Samiye Demir & Cununa Ensemble

When Samiye Demir joins Cununa Ensemble on stage, a rare cross-cultural encounter comes to life: the songs performed by Samiye in Turkish, Kurdish, Persian, Arabic, Armenian and Greek meet the rich sound world of Romanian folk and Balkan traditions. Through music shaped by love, separation, longing and resilience, the program gives voice to women’s stories across cultures and generations.

With her distinctive voice and deeply expressive interpretation, Samiye Demir brings these powerful songs to the stage with remarkable emotional depth. Her storytelling meets the versatility, craftsmanship and rich musical palette of Cununa Ensemble, resulting in a vibrant dialogue between cultures, traditions and generations.
